FREE MOTION MACHINE EMBROIDERY: Introduction - Sat. Aug. 26

89.00

Classes taught by Leisa Rich, 42 years of sewing/design/art professional experience, MFA, BFA, B.Ed-Art.

DATE: Saturday, August 26, 2017

TIME: 10AM-5PM

Explore the exciting, creative technique of free motion machine embroidery -- a method of using a sewing machine and thread as art tools -- on various 2 dimensional surfaces. Transition common fabric and found materials from flat to dimensional, change smooth surfaces into textural, and make the common, dynamic. Skills learned can be used to embellish functional pieces such as quilts, clothing, home décor or art by adding texture and visual interest to the fabrics they are made from, make “painting with thread” representational portraits, and “draw” using thread (no drawing skill needed!)
