I was recently in Vancouver, British Columbia to tour The University of British Columbia, as our daughter is applying there for fall 2014. She was born there; we lived in North Vancouver- fondly known as “North Van”- from 1994-1998. It was amazing being back! My husband and I were both lamenting the whole time there on why we ever left; we were once again moved by the beauty of the mountains, ocean, the great weather, vibrant multi-cultural atmosphere, emphasis on healthy living and eating…it really felt like coming home!
No visit to Vancouver is complete unless a trip is taken to the Granville Market on Granville Island, which is actually not an island at all! You can access more info about it here: http://granvilleisland.com/
Also situated at that location is the Emily Carr University of Art & Design. I stumbled upon a student show just going up, at least, I THINK it was a student show, but there were no tags up yet, no information posted anywhere, and the people at reception had no idea what was being installed. I have sent emails asking for information on the exhibition to provide with this blog posting with no response, and have also just been back on their web site, but there seems to be absolutely zero information available. So, I would just like to show you the photos of some really fun work!
